Raspberry Returneth
A little over a month ago, while in the throes of what felt like the flu, my son apparently thought it would be hilarious to run off with my “new to me” cell phone1 and then forget where he left it. I had almost given up the search after about the seventh time I had turned our house upside down looking for it. Just this morning, I remembered our couch has a nifty little spot where remotes and other valuables can be sucked into the depths of its nether regions. After turning the couch on its side and removing a few upholstery staples, I peered into the dust cover panel underneath– lo and behold, there was my phone. I am very relieved I don’t have go through the whole lost phone process with our phone company although it was the perfect excuse to upgrade to an iPhone for my upcoming birthday. –wink–
Although, I don’t often apologize for my long absences from blogging, I would like to mention why I have been so busy recently. Over the last two months, after I finally decided to discontinue homeschooling my youngest child, I have had many opportunities to freelance for one of my local newspapers, the Watauga Democrat. Not every shot I have submitted has been published but I am learning a tremendous amount about photojournalism and have been getting more requests for photos each week. I hope I continue to stay this busy– although having a little more time for blogging would be nice.

Down the Long and Winding Road Street
In the interest of trying to post something here more often, I am going to begin posting at least one shot (maybe two) from each weekly theme for my 365; I am now past two hundred days. I haven’t quite taken a photo every day but I certainly have learned a lot about photography and I hope it shows in my images. This past week the theme was “streets”. Here is a shot I have been wanting to try for awhile now. It is kind of cliche but taking these kind of shots, for me anyway, increases my understanding of how various types of photos are made.
