Worldwide Photowalk 2010

Besides getting to meet other local photographers in person, photowalks are always good for getting the proverbial shot of a photographer, photographing a photographer, photographing something. Here is the photo I liked best from all the shots I took at the 3rd annual Worldwide Photowalk on July 24th. It was very hot out when the walk started at 3:30pm so everyone enjoyed their time photographing in & around the tunnels which run under Rivers Street on Appalachian State University campus. Even though I forgot to register her for the event and contest, I took my daughter along with me. She had a great time taking pictures of flowers and butterflies and even got some cool shots on the little compact digital camera I let her use.

Introducing….Willow!

Meet the newest addition to the Shumate family…Willow Clara. Her nickname is “cuddles” because she is always begging to lay in someone’s lap and loves to snuggle. She makes a wonderful photographic subject and her constant play gives me plenty of practice in capturing motion. My daughter insisted upon buying her a pink collar and I think it suits her rather well. For more photos of her, please visit her photoset in my Flickr photostream.
